There are some exciting opportunities to join a rapidly changing sector, where there is a shift from custom designed, embedded hardware, to cloud-based processing using standardised IT technologies.
You will join the existing development teams in driving the development of the tooling which supports the ongoing design, development and delivery of the increasingly cloud-based deployments.
As a DevOps engineer you will play a key role, contributing to and enhancing our expertise in CI / CD, AWS, Kubernetes, Linux and general infrastructure administration, particularly focused on enabling continuous delivery of our platform.
You will be required to work closely with architects, developers, product owners and business stakeholders to design and deliver innovative solutions across the domain of Media Management.
The ideal candidate should be an experienced DevOps Engineer, with knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, able to demonstrate a positive, constructive agile approach.
You should have a passion for all aspects of software development from design through refining and have a core background with Linux (development environment and product use)
The DevOps Engineer should have a background in administration and maintenance of projects in public cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and possess knowledge of Containers, Virtualisation and Orchestration
Essential experience and skills:
uServices Architecture Continuous Integration/Delivery tooling such as Jenkins
Security Awareness and Best Practices
Comfortable working mostly on the command line, and using automated approaches to perform routine tasks Ability to develop tools and scripts in, for example, Python, Go or an equivalent language
An understanding and appreciation of Agile software development methodologies
Demonstrable experience of fault finding and problem-solving on complex systems
Knowledge of IP networking: UDP / TCP
High-level knowledge of video and audio standards such as MPEG
Desirable experience and skills:
Experience of automation for QA and DevOps
Big data and machine learning
Experience influencing product roadmaps
In addition, you will have the tenacity to keep going when things get difficult, an optimistic and upbeat personal manner. At times we need to be highly resilient, flexible and accommodating under pressure.
